1. Who we are

FastTaxCalc ("we", "us", "our") is a free tax calculator website operated at fasttaxcalc.com. We provide free, browser-based tax calculators for US sales tax, UK VAT, India GST, Canada HST, and other jurisdictions. We do not provide tax advice or professional services.

2. Calculator inputs — zero data collection

Every calculator on FastTaxCalc runs entirely client-side using JavaScript in your browser. When you enter an amount, select a state, or input salary figures, that data:

• ✓Never leaves your device
• ✓Is never sent to our servers
• ✓Is not stored in cookies or local storage
• ✓Is not accessible to us in any form
• ✓Disappears when you close or refresh the page

This means we have no access to your financial data, salary, tax amounts, or any other inputs you provide to any calculator.

3. Analytics — Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use FastTaxCalc — for example, which calculators are most used, which countries visitors come from, and how many people visit each page. This helps us prioritise which calculators to improve and which countries to add rates for.

Google Analytics collects:

• Pages visited and time spent on each page
• Approximate geographic location (country/region — not precise address)
• Device type, browser, and operating system
• Referral source (how you arrived at our site)

Google Analytics does not collect your name, email, calculator inputs, or any personally identifying information. We have enabled IP anonymisation. Data is processed by Google under their Privacy Policy. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

4. Advertising — Google AdSense

FastTaxCalc may display advertisements provided by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to show relevant ads based on your previous visits to websites. These cookies are set by Google, not by us.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings or by installing the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Ads never appear inside calculators — only in page margins and headers/footers.

Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by their Privacy & Terms.

5. Cookies

FastTaxCalc itself does not set any first-party cookies. The only cookies on our site come from third-party services we use:

6. Contact form data

If you contact us via our contact form or email, we receive your email address and message content. We use this solely to respond to your query. We do not add you to any mailing list or share your details with third parties. Contact data is retained for up to 12 months for correspondence purposes.

7. Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA)

Since we collect no personal data through our calculators, the majority of data rights requests do not apply to FastTaxCalc's core service. However, regarding any data held by third parties (Google Analytics, Google AdSense):

• You may opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the browser add-on linked above
• You may opt out of personalised ads via Google Ad Settings
• EU/UK users may manage cookie consent via our cookie banner
• California residents: we do not sell personal information to third parties

8. Children's privacy

FastTaxCalc is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Our calculators provide general tax reference information suitable for adults and businesses.

9. Links to other websites

Our pages link to official government tax authority websites (IRS, HMRC, CBIC, ATO, CRA) for source verification. These websites have their own privacy policies and we have no control over their data practices.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of FastTaxCalc after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
